Potenza’s new generation BMS software receives international safety accreditation

eBM 5

UK / ItalyPotenza Technology Ltd, (a subsidiary of FPT Industrial) based in Coventry, UK, announced that its fifth-generation Battery Management System (BMS) software has received ISO 26262* ASIL C certification by TÜV SÜD — one of the world’s leading authorities on automotive safety. TÜV SÜD, a respected third-party certification body and founding participant in ISO 26262’s development, carried out the independent assessment. This, according to Richard Devenport, General Manager & Head of Battery Development at Potenza Technology, “deviates from industry norms where many companies rely on internal self-certification."

The certification validates that eBM 5 meets strict safety and reliability standards, offering greater confidence for OEMs and fleet operators using 400V or 800V systems. It’s already in production for vehicles like the IVECO eDaily.
