Credobus launches first electric articulated bus

Electronell 18

Hungary - Kravtex-Kühne Group, the Mosonmagyaróvár-based owner of the Credobus brand, has launched its first electric articulated bus, the 16-tonne Electronell 18. The 18-metre low-entry articulated bus is designed for urban and suburban routes. The company claims it is the world's lightest steel-framed articulated e-bus on the market. This lightweight design enables a range of up to 300 kilometres with a 25% smaller battery pack compared to similar models, enhancing energy efficiency and reducing operational costs.

Manufacturing of the Electronell 18 takes place in Mosonmagyaróvár and Győr, Hungary. In terms of the drivetrain, battery systems and components, “the bus features a Voith VEDS HD central motor drive system delivering a peak power of 410 kW. BorgWarner supplies the NMC batteries, with a total capacity of 392 kWh, allowing for a full recharge in just over three hours. Additional components include a heat pump thermal management system from Eberspächer, an electrohydraulic servo pump by Dana, and an electrically driven compressor by Knorr-Bremse.”
