Indonesia - PT VKTR Teknologi Mobilitas Tbk (VKTR), an Indonesian electric commercial vehicle producer headquartered in the capital city Jakarta, announced in early May that it had received an order for 80 battery-powered buses from PT Transportasi Jakarta (Transjakarta), in partnership with state-owned public bus operator PT Damri.

Publicly-listed VKTR produces battery-powered buses at a plant in Magelang, in Central Java Province, with a production capacity of 3,000 units per year. It sources electric bus chassis from a number of partner OEMs, including China’s BYD, for the production of buses with a local content of over 40%, according to the company.
