JBM Auto secures contract for 1,021 e-buses under PM-eBus Sewa Scheme

JBM e-buses ready for delivery to 19 cities in northern India

India – JBM Ecolife Mobility Pvt Ltd1, a subsidiary of bus manufacturer, JBM Auto Ltd of Gurugram, has secured a major contract under the PM-eBus Sewa Scheme (Tender-II) to deliver 1,021 electric buses across 19 cities in Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Haryana. Awarded by Convergence Energy Services Ltd (CESL), the project - valued at approximately USD660mn (INR 5,500 crore) - includes full-scale electric and civil infrastructure development under a Gross Cost Contracting (GCC) model.

This initiative features a Payment Security Mechanism (PSM) to ensure timely operator payments, promoting financial stability. The 12-year deployment is expected to achieve 32 billion passenger e-kilometres and reduce over 1 billion kg of CO₂ emissions, aligning with JBM’s mission to achieve Net Zero emissions by 2040.
