Foton establishes truck battery leasing JV with Eve Energy

Foton increases focus on battery-powered commercial vehicles

China - Chinese state-owned commercial vehicle manufacturer Beiqi Foton Motor Company (Foton), headquartered in Beijing, has agreed to establish a joint venture with local battery manufacturer, Eve Energy Company to lease batteries for electric-powered commercial vehicles.

The joint venture will have a registered capital of CNY 500 million (USD 70 million), with each partner holding an equal stake. The name of the new company has yet to be confirmed, as it awaits approval from the Chinese authorities.
