Foton, Huawei collaborate on truck electrification, charging

Foton’s battery-powered eAuman heavy-duty trucks

China - Chinese state-owned commercial vehicle manufacturer Beiqi Foton Motor Company (Foton), headquartered in Beijing, has signed a collaboration agreement with Huawei Digital Power Technologies Company to develop new electrification technologies for battery-powered heavy-duty trucks and to establish an ultra-fast recharging network.

The two companies have agreed to work together to help accelerate the transition to battery-powered heavy trucks from “just limited-use cases” at present to “an era of fully electric logistics,” which they claim will significantly reduce logistics costs and carbon emissions.
