Foton signs agreement to localize commercial vehicle production in Saudi Arabia
China - Beiqi Foton Motor Company Ltd, headquartered in Beijing, has signed a preliminary agreement to build a commercial vehicle assembly plant in Saudi Arabia in partnership with its local distributor, Petromin Corporation, as the company continues to strengthen its presence in markets across the Middle East and Africa.
A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed in late June by Foton, Petromin, the Saudi Ministry of Investment, and the National Industrial Development Center, to explore opportunities to produce commercial vehicles in the country as part of the Saudi Government’s Vision 2030 industrial transformation strategy.
