Durite debuts AI Low Bridge Detection System at RTX 2025

Bridge strike

UK – Last month at RTX (24–26 June at the NAEC Stoneleigh, in Warwickshire, UK), Durite Ltd of Dovercourt, Essex, launched its new “AI Low Bridge Detection System”, a UK-developed safety solution aimed at reducing bridge strike incidents on UK roads. The system works by “combining AI-enabled visual recognition, 10 Hz GPS, and the UK’s national low bridge database to detect over-height risks in real time”. Drivers are warned through Durite’s in-cab R‑Watch Display, allowing them to detect and then avoid a collision.

The AI Low Bridge Detection System is manufactured at Durite’s headquarters in Essex, where the company designs, assembles, and distributes more than 5,000 vehicle safety and electrical products. These include camera kits, DVRs, telematics units, lighting systems, wiring components, and fleet compliance solutions for the UK and Irish markets.
