Foxtron’s Model T battery-powered city bus

Japan / Taiwan - Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation (MFTBC, also referred to as Fuso), headquartered in Kawasaki City in Japan’s Kanagawa Prefecture, is in talks to source battery-powered buses from Taiwanese electronics giant Hon Hai Technology Group, according to reports in Japan.

Taipei-headquartered Hon Hai is widely known as Apple’s main iPhone outsourcing partner, Foxconn. Its automotive division, which now comes under the group’s Foxtron Vehicle Technologies Company subsidiary, has developed the MIH (Mobility in Harmony) modular battery electric vehicle (BEV) platform, designed to provide global automakers with a fast, low-cost entry strategy into the BEV segment, backed by a ready-made supply chain.
