UKWrightbus Ltd of Ballymena, UK has unveiled a prototype double-deck bus built on a 6x2 chassis, a battery electric vehicle which it plans to sell to customers in Europe and the Far East.

The 6x2 bus is a variation on the 4x2 ‘StreetDeck Electroliner’ range, a battery electric double-deck model which was launched in its current form in 2023. Wrightbus says it has worked for two years on a 6x2 chassis which can cope with fixed axle and steering axle configurations and can allow for extra battery packs without reducing passenger capacity.
