India / Germany – Commercial vehicle brake and components manufacturer Knorr-Bremse AG, based in Munich, Germany, has opened an Artificial Intelligence (AI) centre in Chennai, India. The centre will focus on applying AI to accelerate software development for braking and vehicle control systems. This is part of a broader strategy of integrating AI across its product portfolio. The company announced that this centre costs EUR 10 million and will eventually house 200 highly skilled engineers and AI specialists. The site will play a pivotal role in developing intelligent algorithms and machine learning models to support safety-critical functions in automated braking, driver assistance, and predictive maintenance systems.
