Schmitz acquires 27.5% stake in Indian truck bodybuilder

Germany / India – German trailer manufacturer Schmitz Cargobull AG has acquired a stake in Indian reefer firm Sub Zero Insulation Tech Pvt Ltd, while stating its intention to help the company modernise its production processes.

For an undisclosed sum, Schmitz has bought a 27.5% equity stake in Sub Zero, with an option to increase its ownership over the next several years. In addition, Schmitz has committed to sharing its innovations in temperature-controlled transportation with Sub Zero and helping it to modernise its facility in Pune, Maharashtra. Schmitz will uses its take in the company to expand its presence in the subcontinent, exporting its modular kits for refrigerated and dry freight truck bodies for local assembly.
