Golden Dragon delivers 200 BRT buses to Tanzania

Official bus handover in Xiamen

Tanzania / China – Chinese bus OEM, Golden Dragon Bus Company based in Xiamen, China, has delivered 200 articulated Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) buses to Dar es Salaam, officially accepted by Tanzanian representatives at Golden Dragon’s Haicang plant in Xiamen, China. Each bus measures 18 metres long and has been specifically adapted for Dar es Salaam’s local conditions, “featuring easy-clean plastic seating and durable handrails to withstand the city’s high humidity and heavy passenger use”. Thanks to smart manufacturing systems, Golden Dragon produced the entire batch in just 45 days.

These buses are diesel-powered BRT vehicles, and the engines, chassis, axles, or batteries are not detailed in the announcement. The fleet will operate on the Dar es Salaam BRT system, enhancing mass transit capacity on key routes across the city.
