New eco mode for Thermo King’s Advancer to cut fuel consumption in half

Belgium – Thermo King Europe of Zaventem, Flemish Brabant has announced that its ‘Advancer’ range of trailer refrigeration units will now come with a “eco mode” as standard, allowing the user to cut fuel consumption by as much as 50%.
The new “ECOmode” is touted as an alternative to both continuous operation and “start-stop” modes, allowing for more efficient temperature management while reducing fuel consumption and therefore operating costs. When in eco mode, the Advancer unit limits the temperature deviation from the set point and ensures sequential airflow to keep the cargo at the right temperature, according to Thermo King.
