Cenex 2025: Intelligent Energy showcases 200-kW fuel cell system

Intelligent Energy's 200-kW system showcased at Cenex 2025

UK – A year ago, Truck & Bus Builder visited Intelligent Energy Ltd, a Loughborough-based developer of fuel cell systems for a range of applications including aircraft, marine, and drones. At this year’s Cenex Expo, held at Millbrook Proving Ground between 3-4 September, the company showcased the fruits of a project it led to develop a system suited to the demands of heavy-duty transportation.

The result of “Project Archer” – funded by the Advanced Propulsion Centre – is a fuel cell system capable of delivering over 200 kilowatts of power, surpassing the 100-kW system for trucks and buses which I saw last year in Loughborough. At Cenex, the company told T&BB that the “plug-and-play” 200-kW system is production ready and is undergoing certification.
