GreenCell secures order for more than 1,200 e-buses under PM E-Bus Sewa Scheme

Mumbai - Electric bus operator based in Mumbai, GreenCell Mobility Pvt Ltd (Greencell*) of Mumbai has received a contract under India’s PM E-Bus Sewa Scheme to deploy 1,222 electric buses across Madhya Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh, further cementing its leading role in the country’s shift toward clean urban transit. Under the agreement, the company plans to operate 472 Eicher electric buses from VECV (VE Commercial Vehicles) in Madhya Pradesh, as well as 750 EKA-brand buses in Andhra Pradesh in collaboration with EKA Mobility. Greencell operates its intercity operation under the Nuego brand.
For Andhra Pradesh, the deployment will include 129 EKA9 nine-meter buses1 and 621 EKA12 twelve-meter buses2. These buses are slated to be introduced across cities including Amravati, Anantapur, Kadapa, Kakinada, Kurnool, Rajahmundry, Nellore, Guntur, Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, and Tirupati.
