Mahindra launches FURIO 8 light/medium-duty truck series

India – Mahindra Truck & Bus Ltd (MTB) of Pune, a division of Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd (M&M) has launched the Furio 8, a new range of light to medium truck (up to 7.5 tons gvw), designed for efficiency, durability, and driver comfort. The trucks are to be manufactured at Mahindra’s state-of-the-art facility in Chakan, Maharashtra.
The Furio 8 is powered by Mahindra’s mDi Tech 4-cylinder, BS-VI compliant diesel engine, which features both EGR and SCR technology. The diesel engine is equipped with Dual-Mode FuelSmart technology, which allows drivers to switch between ‘Load’ and ‘Empty’ modes to optimize fuel efficiency. The engine produces about 122.7 hp at 2,500 rev/min and 375 Nm of torque between 1,300–2,000 rev/min, supported by a pneumatic braking system that ensures better safety and control.
