MCV opens production line for Volvo electric buses

Sweden / Egypt – In September, Manufacturing Commercial Vehicles (MCV) of Cairo, Egypt inaugurated a new production line dedicated to battery electric city and intercity buses for Swedish manufacturer Volvo Bus Corporation.
Formally inaugurated on 16 September, the production line is housed in a 10,000-square-metre building near MCV’s existing facilities. The facility produces complete buses with Volvo electric chassis and MCV bodies for the European market, including the ‘7900 Electric’, ‘Electric Artic’, and ‘8900 Electric’ ranges. These began to be sold with MCV bodies in 2024.
