BYD unveils third-generation electric bus platform

BYD launching its 3rd generation e-bus platform
China / Hungary — BYD Europe BV of Schiedam, Netherlands - the European subsidiary of Shenzhen, China-based BYD Auto Co Ltd – has announced the launch of its third-generation electric bus platform. An electric bus platform is the underlying chassis and powertrain system that underpins multiple vehicle models, combining the battery system, motors, electronic controls, and modular components. It enables BYD to scale production efficiently while tailoring buses to different markets and operator needs.
The new 1000 V platform will be manufactured both in China and at BYD’s European bus and truck plant in Komárom, Hungary, which already produces the 12-metre BYD eBus and a range of electric trucks for European operators. Customers will include public transport authorities, private bus operators, and fleet owners in Europe and worldwide.
