Foton launches pickup truck production in South Africa

The launch of pre-production of the Foton pickup truck in South Africa
China - Chinese state-owned commercial vehicle manufacturer Beiqi Foton Motor Company (Foton), headquartered in Beijing, has begun assembly of its Tunland pickup truck in South Africa, as the company continues its expansion into global markets.
Foton said the launch of local assembly of completely knocked down (CKD) kits imported from China marks “a key milestone in the company’s ‘Lighthouse Plan’ for Africa, and highlights the growing collaboration between China and South Africa in the automotive sector.”
