Germany - BPW’s new electro-hydraulic auxiliary steering system for trailers called BPW Active Reverse Control is due to go into production next month, according to BPW Bergische Achsen KG of Wiehl, Germany.

The privately-owned transports solutions technology group, which introduced Active Reverse Control at IAA Commercial Vehicles 2018 in Hanover in September last year explained the system actively assists manoeuvres when reversing. Whilst BPW has offered self-steering axles for decades, it says its focus had been on manoeuvring when driving forwards; but now, with Active Reverse Control, the steering is active when reversing.
