Mahle acquires gear design structure specialist ZG- Zahnräder und Getriebe

Acquisition

Germany – Mahle GmbH of Stuttgart has acquired transmission gears specialist, ZG-Zahnräder und Getriebe GmbH* of Eching, to expand its expertise in powertrain transmissions. Mahle said the move was significant because the trend in electric vehicles is toward integrated drive systems and it would allow Mahle to tap into additional development competence and offer its customers integrated systems solutions for the powertrain from a single source, including transmission design.
