Meritor engaged in 22 electrification programmes with global truck and bus OEMs

USA – Meritor Inc of Troy, Michigan has announced its involvement in 22 electrification programmes with global OEMs and expects to put at least 130 fully-electric medium- and heavy-duty commercial trucks on the road in the next two years (2020).

In the first half of 2019, a major fleet customer is to begin operating the first of six medium-duty Peterbilt Model 220EV Class 6 delivery trucks equipped with Meritor's 14Xe electric drive systems and fully integrated subsystems from TransPower, an electrification technologies specialist, for large commercial vehicles. In 2017, Meritor announced a strategic investment in TransPower and then in October 2017 announced its Blue Horizon e-strategy at the North American Commercial Vehicles Show in Atlanta, Georgia.
