Belgium - The Commercial Vehicle Board of Directors of the European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (ACEA) has elected Pierre Lahutte as its new Chairman for 2019. Lahutte is the Brand President of Iveco at CNH Industrial and takes over the ACEA chairmanship from Joachim Drees, CEO of MAN Truck & Bus.

He takes on the role as negotiations start between the European Commission, the European Parliament and the Council on the legislative process to decide the first regulations for CO2 standards in heavy-duty vehicles. ACEA has reiterated the need for a well-balanced regulation that is ambitious, but at the same time realistic and achievable.
