Tenneco plans to split business into two divisions following acquisition of Federal Mogul

USATenneco Inc of Lake Forest, Illinois, USA, which concluded its purchase of automotive component supplier, Federal-Mogul LLC of Southfield, Michigan, United States in October 2018, plans to separate its businesses to form two new, independent companies; an Aftermarket and Ride Performance company and a new Powertrain Technology company. The new structure is expected to be in place by the end of 2019.

As a result of a restructuring programme, Tenneco is to close its original equipment (OE) ride control plants in Owen Sound, Ontario and Hartwell, Georgia to realign its manufacturing footprint, enhance operational efficiency and respond to changing market conditions and capacity requirements.
