First Euro VI compliant MAN coach enters service in Australia

Germany / Australia - The first coach based on an MAN Euro VI emissions compliant chassis has entered service in Australia and is being used to take winter sports enthusiasts to the skiing areas in New South Wales by travel services provider, Cooma Coaches. The coach, which was bodied by local body manufacturer, Coach Design of Archerfield in Queensland, was supplied by Penske Commercial Vehicles, the MAN Truck & Bus sales partner and distributor in Australia and New Zealand.

The 14.5m 3-axle RR4 CO 26.500 chassis is powered by a 500 horsepower (368kW) six-cylinder diesel engine combined with MAN's TipMatic 12-speed gearbox and MAN hypoid axle.  Features include EBS, ESP and ROP, to ensure the safety of passengers and the driver. The coach is also equipped with other safety features such as adaptive cruise control, tyre pressure monitoring, lane guard system and emergency brake assist.
