Schmitz now making full length insulated side panels for 16.8m refrigerated trailers

Germany / Lithuania – Schmitz Cargobull AG of Horstmar, claims to be the first trailer manufacturer in Europe to produce single-piece Ferroplast (insulated) side walls for refrigerated box bodies with a total length of 16.80 metres. Produced at the company's Lithuanian plant in Panevėžys they have been installed on a refrigerated box trailer for the Russian X5 Retail Group NV.

The trailer's 25% additional length means 25% more pallets, 25% fewer runs, lower fuel consumption and lower CO₂emissions – significantly increasing the efficiency of day-to-day transport business.
