43 VDL Citea Electrics for Qbuzz

The Netherlands – VDL Bus & Coach of Eindhoven has won a contract to supply 43 Citea Electrics to operator, Qbuzz, for deployment in Emmen, Assen and Groningen. The order consists of 11 articulated SLFA-180 and 32 SLF-120 Electric variants. The e-buses are scheduled to enter service from the end of 2019 on city services in all three locations. Qbuzz was successful in submitting a tender for the services to OV-Bureau Gronongen Drenthe, which has stated its aim to electrify all its services.
The 11, 3-door Citea SLFA-180 Electrics feature 288kWh battery systems and the 32, 2-door VDL Citeas SLF-120 Electrics will be equipped with 216kWh battery packs. Both variants have roof-mounted pantographs for fast charging to ensure optimum operational availability of the vehicles.
