AL says its ready for BS VI

Chennai - Ashok Leyland Ltd of Chennai, has released some information about its plans for Bharat Stage VI (BS VI). The company says it has achieved its internally set task and deadline of having engines for its range of medium and heavy duty commercial vehicles that are fully compliant with the new BS VI emission norms that come into effect from 2020. Pre-series production of these new engines is to take place at its three engine plants in Hosur, Chennai and Pantnagar from September this year.

Dr N Saravanan, senior vice-president, Product Development, Ashok Leyland Ltd, said: “We are pleased to share that we have now achieved our internal milestone on emission capability for our entire range of medium and heavy duty commercial vehicles. Our new technology continues to build upon the successfully proven iEGR engine platform. We are now well on track in our preparedness for the 2020 launch.”
