Germany - The Stuttgart-based Bosch Group has reported preliminary figures indicating its financial performance indices in 2018 were equal to its 2017 performance despite losses of EUR2.1bn attributed to currency exchange rates. Sales in 2018, however,  generated from operations returned EUR77.9bn, an increase of 4.3%. Bosch Group is active across numerous business sectors ranging from consumer goods to artificial intelligence systems, which is becoming prevalent in the automotive sector and has also led to projects involving the International Space Station.

Planning upfront investments worth EUR4bn, the company's automotive sector development will move toward accident-free mobility. Two development paths are being pursued: The first concerns driver assistance systems, which will enable partially automated driving in private vehicles (automation levels 2 and 3) and the second, will lead to driverless driving starting at the beginning of the next decade (automation levels 4 and 5).
