Peruvian market outlook for CVs appears strong

Peru - The Peruvian market for heavy commercial vehicles (trucks and buses) from 6 ton and above closed 2018 with the sales of 17,392 vehicles, an increase of 4% compared with 16,613 units in 2017, according to the Automotive Association of Peru (AAP).

The heavy truck market (16t gvw and above) remained stable with registrations increasing by 1.9% to 9,922 trucks from 9,739 units sold in 2017. The bus and coach segment saw registrations total 4,714 vehicles, some 609 vehicles or 14.8% higher than 4,105 units in 2017. 2,756 articulated truck (the combination of a tractor unit and one or more semitrailers to carry cargo), only 13 vehicles below the 2,769 registered in 2017.
