Germany / BelgiumWabco Holdings Inc of Brussels, Belgium, a supplier of braking control systems and advanced technologies for commercial vehicles, recently held a ground-breaking ceremony to mark the start of its expansion of its Erich Reinecke test track in Jeversen, Germany. Wabco is planning to invest up to USD21m (over EUR18m) to expand its commercial vehicle testing capability for heavy-duty trucks and buses.

The current test track already plays an important role in the testing and development of new solutions and technologies. With the expansion, a separate project centre covering an area of over 1,000m² and two additional truck halls are to be added. Additionally, a new 3.6km oval circuit replicating real-life highway driving conditions is to be built to allow the testing of technologies such as lane departure warning systems, traffic jam assistants and highway pilots or platooning.
