USA / Canada - Dana Incorporated of Maumee, Ohio, USA, launched its latest direct-drive electric powertrain, the TM4 SUMO LD at the ACT Expo 2019. The motor-inverter combination is designed for Class 2 through to Class 6 vehicles and extends the TM4 SUMO line up further to lower-duty vehicle weights, which is claimed to be powering more than 12,000 electrified vehicles globally.

The TM4 SUMO LD is expected to provide a modular solution for future transitions to widespread electrified axle platforms. When integrated with one of Dana's numerous e-Axle solutions, the TM4 SUMO LD can be configured for light-commercial, minibus and medium-duty truck and bus, as well as heavy-duty Class 8 hybrid vehicles.
