Russia's truck market stagnates in first quarter

Russia – In the first quarter of 2019, Russia registered 17,143 new trucks of gross vehicle weights exceeding 5 tons, according to statistics collated by LLC Avtostat Info. This was 1.9% decrease on the previous year’s first quarter of 17,480 vehicles.

The Russian market constituted 59.8% Russian-branded trucks with registrations of 10,249 units, an increase of 10% on 9,317 units registered in Q1/2018, whereas foreign models totalled 6,894 trucks, which contracted by 15.5% from 8,159 units in the same quarter of 2018.
