Trailer and body (7.5t gvw+) builder, Don-Bur (Bodies & Trailers) Ltd of Stoke on Trent, UK, at the 2019 Commercial Vehicle Show displayed its latest lifting deck trailer, which has been re-engineered for optimal durability and to reduce maintenance by an estimated 12.2%.

Richard Owens, marketing director, explaining the adjustments to the design said over a 10-year lifespan, savings could equate to GBP2,280 less in upkeep costs with an additional reduction in typical service downtime. Owens said its hydraulically powered lifting deck trailers come with more advanced components than standard single deck trailers and, historically, have come with a higher annual maintenance cost to ensure smooth running and compliance with regulations such as LOLER (Lifting Operations Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998).  The latest design, however, addresses many operator maintenance cost fears and represents a significant leap forward in terms of longevity and integration of virtually maintenance-free elements, stated Owens.
