Indonesia - The Indonesian market for commercial vehicles over 2 tons gvw declined by 9.4% to 39,824 units in the first quarter of 2019 from strong year-earlier sales of 43,936 units, based on www.AsiaMotorBusiness.com analysis of vehicle wholesale data.

Economic growth in the country remained sluggish in the first quarter at just under 5.1% year-on-year and slightly slower than the almost 5.2% growth seen in the fourth quarter of 2018. The increase in spending that was anticipated relating to the presidential and parliamentary elections held in April failed to offset a slowdown in investment and export growth.
