Indonesia - The Indonesian pickup truck market declined by almost 17% to 5,222 units in the first quarter after growing by two-thirds to 6,280 units in the same period a year earlier. The segment is heavily dependent on the mining and plantations sectors for its sales – industries that are currently experiencing low rates of growth.

The pickup truck market depends almost entirely on imports of built-up vehicles from Thailand. It continues to be led by Mitsubishi despite the company reporting a more than 14% drop in sale of the Triton model to 2,711 units in the first quarter, albeit after a strong performance in the same period a year earlier when volumes jumped by 160% to 3,169 units.
