The first production model of the Mercedes-Benz flagship Actros 1851 LS 4x2 rolled off the production line at the Wörth plant on 21 May.

The Wörth facility, now a centre of competence for global production facilities for the Daimler Truck AG division, began preparation for the new generation model in 2014. Its development was aided by digitised modelling and Virtual Reality to simulate assembly and optimise production. Around 50 projects were undertaken with equipment suppliers to develop components and systems tailored to the concept. Additional test benches were installed to cater for commissioning and validation of the new technologies.
