Otokar launches electric Kent city bus at UITP

Turkey / Sweden – Bus manufacturer, Otokar of Sakarya, Turkey used the UITP Congress in Stockholm last month to launch its first full-sized electric bus. The 12m e Kent C in standard form is equipped with four roof-mounted battery modules offering 300kWh capacity and is charged overnight with no opportunity charging facility. It incorporates the familiar ZF AxTrax electric drive system which produces a maximum of 250kW and up to 22,000Nm of torque. Rear view cameras replace traditional side mirrors.

Otokar said the e Kent C would be available in Europe from mid-2020. The company is already engaged in achieving accreditation and in tendering negotiations with a number of prospective clients.
