Russia – According to statistics collated by LLC Avtostat Info, 38,844 new medium and heavy-duty trucks were registered in Russia in the first half of 2019; a decrease of 6.4% on 37,212 units registered in the same period of 2018.

Truck registrations of Russian brands increased as a percentage of total sales from 52.1% to 56.9% by registering 19,808 units. Alexander Kovrigin, Deputy General Director of OJSC ASM-Holding, attributed the decline to the industrial recession, the contraction and closure of small and medium businesses, the fall of the export potential of Russian companies and the impact of Western sanctions.
