Russian bus market momentum still there despite fall of 8.3%

Russia – According to LLC Avtostat Info, in the first half of 2019 Russia registered 6,489 new buses with gross vehicle weights of 6 tonnes and above, which was 8.3% down on 7,077 units registered in the same period of 2017. Buses of Russian models constituted 89.4% of the market or 5,804 units (down 9%). Meanwhile, the sales of foreign models totaled 685 units, which was just 2% fewer than in 2018.

The Pavlovo Bus Plant (PAV) remained the industry leader with registrations of 3,567 buses an increase of 14% on the previous first half year. The PAZ-3205 small bus accounted for almost half the output in the Pavlovo-on-Oka plant with 1,773 units, an increase of 4.2%.
