Tata AutoComp and Seco Seojin to form clutch JV for trucks and buses

Pune / South KoreaTata AutoComp Systems Ltd¹ of Pune, a division of Mumbai’s Tata Group, which offers a wide range of products and services for the automotive and commercial vehicle industries and SECO Seojin Automotive Co Ltd² of Siheung-si, Gyeonggi-do, Republic of South Korea, have entered into a joint venture to design, develop and manufacture clutch systems in India catering specifically for commercial vehicles and agricultural tractors. The joint venture is to focus on the clutch cover, clutch disc and friction material required for clutch applications.

The joint venture is to focus on products for the Indian commercial vehicle and agriculture tractor markets, as well as expanding its range for the passenger vehicle market. It will also produce clutches for the independent CV aftermarket. SECO, through its subsidiary Seco Komos Automotive India Pvt Ltd is currently manufacturing clutch systems for passenger vehicles at its plant in Oragadam, Chennai and supplies Hyundai. This plant will become a part of the new joint venture.
