Volgren working with BYD and Volvo on electrification

Australia / China / Sweden – Australian bus manufacturer, Volgren of Dandenong, Victoria (a Marcopolo subsidiary) has been engaged in several development projects for zero and low emission bus projects with BYD Company of Shenzhen and Sweden's Volvo Buses.

In order to comply with Australian design requirements, which require all high voltage electrics, battery packs, radiators and compressors to be roof mounted, a fully electric bus based on BYD technology has been developed. Volgren, working with Volvo Australia and Volvo Buses, has also developed the first prototype body for the new Euro VI B5LH Hybrid.
