Meritor and Kalyani JV open new axle production facility and R&D centre in Mysore

USA / India - Automotive Axles Ltd (AAL) of Mysore (a joint venture between the Kalyani Group of Pune and Meritor Inc of Troy, Michigan, USA since 1981), has opened a new USD36.5m axle assembly facility along with a new state-of-the-art research and development centre in Mysore, India.

Meritor announced the new axle assembly facility expands Meritor India's production capacity by 25% and said it would allow it to serve customers better in the commercial vehicle, off-highway and defence sectors. The research and development centre will focus on end-to-end testing and validation of Meritor's domestic and global products.
