Meritor completes acquisition of AxleTech

USA – Meritor Inc of Troy, Michigan, USA has completed its acquisition of AxleTech (formerly Rockwell International) from global investment firm The Carlyle Group.
The transaction, announced in May 2019, is designed to enhance Meritor’s growth platform with the addition of a complementary product portfolio, including a full line of independent suspensions, axles, braking solutions and drivetrain components. AxleTech, which is also headquartered in Troy, will operate within Meritor’s Aftermarket, Industrial & Trailer segment. Meritor, at the time of the original announcement expected the transaction to amount to USD175m in cash with adjustment for changes in working capital at closing.
