Canada - New Flyer Industries Canada ULC, a subsidiary of NFI Group Inc, has supplied the public transit system (Société de transport de Laval (STL)) of Laval, Quebec, Canada its first zero-emission, battery-electric Xcelsior CHARGE bus.

STL states it is on its way to a 100% electric powered transportation network; its first order of ten Xcelsior CHARGE buses was announced alongside the Société de transport de Montréal (STM) in August 2018, at the time becoming Canada’s largest ever battery-electric bus contract to New Flyer (the contract included 10 buses for STL and 30 buses for STM).  STL’s buses will use depot chargers overnight. STL has committed to buy only electric buses from 2024.
