UK - New bus and coach registrations fell by 29.4% in the second quarter of this year, according to statistics provided by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT), with 1,433 vehicles registered. The Q2 figures mark the 10th consecutive quarterly decline for the sector with sources offering speculative reasons for the decline including economic and political instability and uncertainty over plans to introduce Clean Air Zones.

Minibus sector registrations continued to see the most significant decline in demand, falling -50.0% to 491 units. Figures for double deck buses also suffered a fall, down by 45.1% to 185 units. Single-deck registrations saw a slight improvement, up 6.6% to 757 units.
