Colombia / Brazil - Volvo Buses Latin America Ltda of Curitiba, Brazil, has delivered the first 336 buses (202 articulated and 134 bi-articulated) of the 700 new buses ordered last November for Transmilenio operations in Bogotá, Colombia; the vehicles started operations in June. This is part of a total order for 402 bi-articulated and 298 articulated buses ordered as part of the fleet renewal for one of the world’s largest BRT systems. The chassis are being produced in Curitiba, Brazil, and the bodies supplied by Marcopolo’s subsidiary in Colombia, Superpolo SA, which is in Cundinamarca.

Fabiano Todeschini, president of Volvo Buses Latin America, said: “Modern, safe and with high transport capacity, our buses will further improve passenger comfort and urban mobility in one of the largest capitals in Latin America.”
