USA - Christer Johansson, senior vice president, investor relations at the Volvo Group at the NACV Show in Atlanta last month, confirmed what other industry experts were saying about the Class 8 truck market in 2020, that the market to ‘normalise’ at 240,000/250,000 units, down by around 100,000 units from what is expected to be the second highest Class8 truck market ever in 2019 of 340,000 units. He said recent September registrations had been higher than forecast, and these figures were confirming this year-end final registration figure.

Jonathan Randall, Head of Mack Trucks sales and marketing in North America, said: “We see a very strong Q4 for Mack Trucks. We have not seen nearly as many cancellations so far this year as others in the industry have seen and we are seeing continuing strength in our order book and as a result we are raising our guidance from 325,000 to 340,000 Class 8 units for retail deliveries this year in North America.”
