USA / Sweden - Volvo Trucks North America Inc of Greensboro, North Carolina, has introduced a revised version of its VNR660 regional haul tractor unit at the NACV Show in Atlanta.      Available to order from Q1 2020, the model is designed for regional haul operations and has been adapted to better meet regulations imposed by federal or state bridge, length or weight laws and improve vehicle utilisation. The new VNR 660 offers customers a way to increase payload capacity while still satisfying certain length and weight requirements. It also features a sleeper cab – unusual for truck models optimized for regional haul.

The new Volvo VNR 660 features a shorter, 164 inch bumper to back-of-cab length offering both weight savings from decreasing the overall size of the truck and the option to use more versatile tractor-trailer combinations for increased cargo capacity. It combines a high-roof configuration with a 61-inch sleeper that will comfortably accommodate an extra person for an overnight stop or routes requiring team drivers. There is space to install a refrigerator, microwave and television with storage above the driver and passenger seats. Volvo's Premier Trim package, which includes wood-grain trim for the dash and cabinetry can also be specified.
